Let's talk about DUBAI DESIGN WEEK's highlights. One of the most elevated experiences to date, showcasing the best in contemporary design, with internationally renowned brands, emerging talent and country-specific presentations. Creative collaborations were at the very forefront of this year’s fair.
One of our favourite installations this year was ‘IOTA’ created by Lebanese design-duo Karim Tamerji and Elias Hage with the support of House of Today. To create the installation, the designers moulded the material and also used an age-old rammed earth technique.
ONCE UPON A FOREST created by OBMI, the installation combined sustainable design with the preservation of UAE’s natural landscape. The organic shape is inspired by the mangrove forests within the UAE.
Installations with MEANING: Al Gargoor by Sara Alrayyes is a public installation made from gargoor, meaning used fishing nets highlighting importance of the fishing culture while preserving Bahrain and the surrounding Gulf countries' unique identitie
About Collaborations: ELYSIUM by C'est ici for Arneli
Envisioned as a paradisiacal world of illumination, Elysium showcased a combination of classic designs including the embroidered Camillo chandelier and the single orb pendent light in rock crystal alongside contemporary custom-made creations by C’est ici Design, fabricated by ARNELI as special editions for Downtown Design. Drawing inspiration from the brand DNA and its alchemical way of transforming precious raw materials into works of art, C’est ici designed the installation as a curved enclosure, evocative of nature, the cosmos, and the celestial bodies within.

THE FORUM : Experimental Design Redefined
Our Founder and Creative Director had a full house at the Forum.
ABOUT: From homes and offices, to hotels and leisure, creating a memorable experience is key to any project’s sustained success. As we (thankfully) move forward from ‘made for Instagram’ moments, what is the formula for truly memorable experimental spaces that have the power to move you?
